In the heart of Central Texas, directors and coaches from three distinguished Texas baseball programs—Austin Wings, THZ Baseball, and Marucci Elite ATX—recognized an opportunity for collaboration. Each organization was built on a foundation of excellence, character, and community impact, yet they operated in their separate realms. It was time to unite their strengths to create a transformative program that would inspire and elevate the youth of the region.

The journey began with dialogues among the leaders of the three organizations, who shared a common vision for cultivating not only exceptional athletes but also principled young men. Their collective missions emphasized the importance of skill development, competitive play, and the cultivation of character. They all believed in the power of baseball as a vehicle for life lessons, instilling values that transcended the game itself.

As they gathered, the leaders shared experiences, successes, and challenges. From the Austin Wings’ commitment to providing a first-class program since 1999, to THZ’s ethos of developing well-rounded young adults with resilience and humility, and Marucci’s dedication to nurturing players in a family-oriented environment, it became clear that together they could amplify their impact exponentially.

Thus, 1836 Roughriders was born—not just as a name but as a mission to foster a culture of teamwork, integrity, and growth in young athletes.
