Ripken’s Journey

Ripken’s Journey is a Christ-centered non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young men through the game of baseball while also inspiring them to be present, loving, and bold within their communities. Founded in memory of Ripken Miguel Sierra, we provide transformative experiences through local missions and our signature summer trips, where participants engage in impactful service projects, such as helping those in need locally or at food banks across the country and through street outreach in cities with Major League Baseball (MLB) teams. By partnering with professional athletes, including MLB pitcher Chris Paddack, we create unique opportunities for boys to learn, grow, and gain perspective while exploring their passions. Our mission is to challenge hearts and minds, encouraging young men to be compassionate leaders as we aim to serve locally and in every MLB city, fostering a spirit of service and community.

PURPOSE

We believe that God has a purpose for everyone, as we are made in His image for a specific reason. Though we experienced the loss of our son Ripken Miguel Sierra, we understand that God has a bigger plan. Ripken’s Journey aims to do more than simply teach baseball; we are passionate about helping young men realize their worth and purpose. Our vision is to make a meaningful impact in their lives, encouraging them to step out of their comfort zones through travel and service.

We equip our participants not only with high-level baseball instruction, but also with valuable and necessary life skills, fostering good choices, academic success, and community leadership. Our goal is to visit all 30 MLB stadiums while integrating mission work in the communities that surround them. Through our journey, we aspire to help young athletes experience God in unique ways and to share His love with others. By combining the game of baseball with service, we create an enriching environment that contributes to their growth as successful adults who positively impact their communities.
